Pomona High School is excited to announce Mr. Nathan Johnson as our new Head Varsity Football Coach. Johnson will take over for Coach Jay Madden, who stepped down in December to spend more time with his family.
During his career, Nate Johnson played football as a walk-on for two years at Northern Arizona University, then transferred to Adam State where he played football and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies Education and a Masters of Arts in Humanities. Most recently, he served as assistant head coach at Englewood High School and assistant wrestling coach at Arapahoe High School.
According to Pomona High School Athletic Director, Mr. Mike Santarelli, “We are excited that Coach Johnson is coming to Pomona as our new head coach. He is a great leader, teacher, and developer of young men on the field, and in the classroom. He is passionate about Pomona High School and our community. Coach Johnson sets high standards for his players and coaches, and we are excited for the future of Panther football.”
Coach Johnson is looking forward to meeting his team, assistance coaches and parents alike. A meeting is being planned for early March, where Coach Johnson will share his expectations and passion. Information about the meeting will be communicated through the school website and email.
